Memorials Day - The Lost Initiative

"It's not about anything, but the man next to you, that matters the most when bullets start flying." - A Solider Today is the Memorial Day. We honor those who laid their lives for us, fighting for a cause that freedom of the people back home should hold the highest importance and that no anti - social, terrorist or extremist force should endanger that. The gave the supreme sacrifice. There is nothing more one could offer to his country and its honor.  But, I think we as collective individuals, citizens, have failed those who have given their lives so that we can enjoy the freedom, could exercise our rights and showcase the empathy that is due. Maybe we lost our heroes in fights those were not ours. We lost them because the leaders whom we chose thought oil interests in gulf were more 'premium'  than the lives of our fallen.  Now one may argue that those fights were fought because we wanted to liberate locals their, but seriously, Are You Kidding Me...

The Grand Uttar Pradesh Elections - The Ring Masters

With 404 legislative assembly seats, floating over a massive 202 million and above population, Uttar Pradesh's state legislative assembly elections are one massive carnival of Indian politics. Out of 545 'Lok-Sabha' (lower house) seats in Indian Parliament, U.P. calls for 80 of them, hence making it the center in the 'Ring of Indian Politics'. Current ruling party claimed massive 70+ seats out of 80 to clean sweep the floor of parliament. Here we will take a glimpse of the ring masters of this arena. 1. MEDIA IN CHECK Yesterday, while going through my twitter feed, I came across a wonderful tweet, “You will realize that our country is not that in dirt as projected by our profit oriented media. Take a break from it for a while and you will understand.” Now of course due to number of characters’ limitation on a tweet, the original used some abbreviations, but that is not a point. Point is that it reflected the true vibrancy of situation, which our so called media choose to monochrome in the color which is more profitable to them. India is a nation of 1.25 billion people. There exists always a fraction of population which are criminal minded, crooks, and of character that will put that of animals to shame. How big that portion is, what percentage is that out of the total pie, can be very well and effectively controlled by good and immersive governance, but cannot be eliminated at all.
